The evening of wine and cracklings was held for the first time in 2013, as part of the project "From viticultural tradition to wine tourism, abbreviated as "Cross-border wine routes", which was implemented by the City of Križevci in cooperation with Hungarian partners The Pecs-Mecsek wine road from Pecs and the Mecsek association of wine cellars from Mecseknadasd.
The event was designed with the aim of introducing the citizens of Križevci and the surrounding area, tourists, guests and visitors to the Križevačko veliko spravišče, event held at the beginning of June every year, to the viticulture tradition and wine customs of the region, and to the presentations by members of the Wine Road.
Due to the excellent turnout, the event continued to be organized until today, and over time it outgrew the space of the atrium of the Art Gallery where it was originally organized and moved to the yard of the Tax Administration in Križevci.
